100 Scrappy Things

3 min read

People often say: Quality over quantity.
But if youā€™re really thinking about itā€¦

How can you have quality if you donā€™t have quantity first? šŸ¤”

I believe in the power of repetition. Iā€™ve seen it work time and time again.

Putting in the work without expecting any external reward at first (eg views, followers, likes, etc) will pay off in the long run.

Just have to be consistent and believe in the process.

A few personal examples

Back in 2020 I decided that I want to grow my YouTube channel to over 100k subscribers. In about 1.5 years I released about 200 videos and streams and got my 100k plaque.

This year (2024) I decided to run 2024 total kilometers. I managed to complete this challenge in just 8 months. Putting in the reps every single week. More about this running journey here (article coming soon).

As you can see it worked before, and I want to do it again.

100 Scrappy Things

Iā€™m calling this challenge the 100 Scrappy Things challenge.

I think I first saw this idea in Robertoā€™s video, and if Iā€™m not mistaken, MrBeast also mentioned something similar.

He was talking about making 100 crappy videos to get better over time. Putting in the reps and improving a little bit each time.

But this concept can be applied to many other things likeā€¦

  • writing 100 articles
  • building 100 projects

you name it.

Ok, maybe the last one is a bit too ambitious, but you get the point. šŸ˜„

My plan

I want to become a better writer.
I want to make better videos.
And I want to become better at building, launching, marketing and monetizing products.

Thatā€™s my goal for the near future. So Iā€™m going to do 100 reps of each of the things above.

Seems a bit too ambitious? Maybe.

But I want to challenge myself and see how far it can take me.

The starting point

At the time of writing thisā€¦

  • the blog gets about 8k visits per month (writing).
  • the YouTube channel gets about 38k views per month (video creation).
  • and Iā€™m averaging about $3-4000 revenue per month from my projects (project building).

I wonā€™t be focusing on numbers until I reach the 100 mark.

What I will focus on is putting in the reps and getting a little bit better every time.

Letā€™s see how it goes.

Wish me luck! šŸ¤ž
